Barks & Clusters

*Melt one pound of Merckens wafers, milk dark or white, in a plastic microwave bowl on medium heat for 30 second intervals until melted.

*Mix in 1 1/2 cups of a crunchy food product
*Re-heat mixture in the microwave for 20-30 seconds.  This will make it easier to work with.

For a Bark:  Spread mixture on a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper
Chill until set in the freezer
Break into pieces and enjoy

For a Cluster:  Spoon dollops of mixture onto a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper or into a mold or candy cup
Chill until set in the freezer

You can mix many different items into chocolate to make barks and clusters.  Some ideas include:
Raisins                                  Nuts                                         Rice Krispies
Coconut                                Malt Crunch                            Toffee Crunch
Peppermint Crunch            Lemon Crunch                       Caramel Bits
Dried Fruit                           Mini Marshmallows             Crushed Oreos
Broken Pretzels                  Whatever your family and friends enjoy

Don’t be afraid to mix and match

Rocky Road:  Mix peanuts, raisins and mini-marshmallows
Laua:  Mix coconut, dried mango & pineapple, mini-marshmallows & macadamia nuts
Harvest:  Dried cranberries, almonds or walnuts, dried apricots
Anti-Oxidant: Pistachio, dried cherries and pumpkin seeds
House special:  Mix any broken cookies and leftover bits and pieces you have
in the house.
